Paramount Skydance Plans to Eliminate Around 2,000 United States Roles – News
Paramount Skydance is scheduled to start mass layoffs the week of 27 October, eliminating nearly 2,000 American roles under a budget-saving initiative totaling $2bn led by new chief executive David Ellison.
The layoffs come after the union of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, which closed during August worth $8.4bn.
Further global layoffs are anticipated, with the company aiming to announce complete information in its Q3 financial results on 10 November.
Previous updates stated the company was looking to cut from 2,000 to 3,000 positions before the start of November.
As of December 2024, Paramount had almost 18,600 full- and part-time employees along with 3,500 project-based staff.
The organization has not provided a response to a request for comment.
